About Me
My name is Chris King. I have been sharpening knives for over 15 years for home cooks throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and beyond who appreciate a sharp knife. I personally do all the sharpening myself to ensure that the blade is sharpened to my exacting standards and your blade has the best edge. My goal is to provide outstanding customer service along with excellent blade sharpening. I can sharpen while you wait or you can drop off and pick up at your convenience. I have a passion for blades. Whether it be the kitchen knives that I use all the time or one of the many pocketknives that I carry with me daily. I have my favorites. For the kitchen I really enjoy the Shun knives that I have been collecting over the years and my nakiri style Masamoto.
I often get asked, “What are good kitchen knives to buy?” Well, it all depends on your budget. I would recommend buying a just a few high-quality knives rather than a big block set with a bunch of knives that you won’t use. Find something that feels good in your hand since a knife should just be an extension of your body. Spend the money for excellent knives, take care of them, and they will last a lifetime. DO NOT put them in the dishwasher!
I feel “naked” if I don’t have at least one pocketknife with me at all times. I really enjoy their utilitarianism and practicality. I have a collection of almost 100 pocket knives and use them like an accessory such as jewelry. I spend time choosing the right one for my day, whether I plan to do yard work or a date with my wife. Some of my favorite brands are Kershaw, Two Sun, We Knives, CIVIVI, SOG, CRKT, Kizer, KUBEY and CJRB. They are great quality for the price and have exceptional design.
